Women Power

The Naxi ethnic group is a matriarchal society. Traditionally, women are the major decision makers in family matters. After the wedding, a husband goes back to his parents' house and visits his wife in the evenings. It is the woman's responsibility to provide and take care of her children. Not until recently that men are getting more involved as equal partners to their espouses.
